TV Crumbles

Temperature: 4 degrees Fahrenheit
Distance from Indianapolis to Greenfield: 15 miles
Length of time to move: 5 ½ hours
Having Jesse and John Chilton move you: Priceless

Well...maybe not priceless...one tv didnt make it. Notice the pieces…John was trying to move our 6000 lb TV from the living room floor into the bedroom armoire all by himself. I was of no help, as after 2999 lbs, I am useless. Whelp, John, not able to obtain a good grip to perform a dead lift of the TV, attempted, unsuccessfully to grip it from behind and CRUSHED it into a million pieces (more or less)! It was awesomely impressive! Seeing the back totally in tatters…John finally found his opportunity to gain a better grip!

Starting the Year Off Right

Although the first of the year is not for another 47 hours, I may as well begin following through with at least one of my many New Year's Resolutions. This, my friends, is my blog. :) I typically don't make resolutions because I rarely if ever keep them, but this blog will be a reminder to me (as will you, my dear readers and commenters) of all of my other goals. It will serve as both an accountability tool and a sort of progress report. However, this is not an avenue by which anyone (and I mean anyone, except for Karis) can shake fingers, pass judgment, or chide me (tee hee).

The first thing one needs for accountability are goals. Below is a list of some of my goals, which I hope to accomplish this year, but let's face it, I know it will be year-zzzz. We all, though, have to start somewhere. And without goals, one never knows what one can accomplish in a year(z) time (or more, or less).

1. Start a blog. (Check!) (May as well start off the year ahead!!)
2. List movie critiques and recommendations.
3. Read the Bible in a year, including research and study. (See excel spreadsheet, to be posted.)
4. Have at least one literacy student by year's end.
5. Move into the new house (rennovated by my husband and me!!).
6. Eat healthy and work-out faithfully (specifics TBD - let's not go crazy).
7. Do not demand perfection out of self and others, especially when working towards specific goals (ex: blog).
8. Call Karis.
9. Return phone calls and e-mails more quickly.
10. Read books for pleasure and for work improvement.
11. Begin learning German.
12. Begin learning Chinese calligraphy.

To you all, it may seem lofty. What you do not know is that I am amazing.

13. Learn humility (or at least how to not be so obvious that I lack it).

Above is a sampling of some fine folks I am so glad, nay priviledged, nay honored to know. You can find them on any given Sunday at Church 52 located at Indiana Business College, Indianapolis at 10:00am.

In the end, Karis actually wrote this, but it is nonetheless I, Kelli. However, future blogs might lack the same voice and flavor.

14. Write with more zest, humor, and voice.
15. Change password (Karis set this up for me). (Check)

(Karis says I rock. Check out her blog at kariskoett.blogspot.com - she lives in Alaska, or, as Shane says, is Alaskonian.)
